Print Control of Foils for Pharmaceutical Packaging and Regulation of Foil Draw-Off
An inkjet system prints variable batch data onto wide pre-printed aluminium foil. A QualiVision camera system reliably inspects lot numbers and expiry dates to ensure safe production, scanning graphic characters (OCR/OCV) and comparing them against pre-set parameters. The system controls print quality of the flexo pre-print, variable data and its positioning, as well as inspecting the remaining foil surface for other flaws. Printer malfunctions and faulty prints are identified, traced and securely filtered out of the packaging process. The image processing system controls positioning of medication within packaging, with cover foil draw-off regulated by an additional camera. Bags are sealed and then die cut and packaged.
Printcontrol image processing solutions offer data and image storage and extensive statistics, documentation, logging and diagnosis functionality for process optimisation as well as ease of operation.
