Print Control for Safe Food Production

An image processing system inspects laser-marked folding cartons and inkjet-printed foil packaging. Lasers or printers may fail, either partially or completely. Products routed for distribution and sale must be labelled correctly with legible expiry dates, lot numbers and production date and time.

A camera system performs OCR/OCV and presence checks, comparing recorded data against pre-set parameters and generating digital accept/reject signals to securely remove incorrectly labelled food packaging from the production process. The great variety of products requires high configurability of inspection programmes. Using design templates, we can quickly and easily configure inspection programmes to monitor new products.
